This is Summer, Right?
Honestly…I have to keep reminding myself it’s not October. Last night it got down into the 40s!!!!!!! My poor tomatoes are hard and green. I did pick some beans the other night and we had them for supper tonight. Yum! We also ate the first zucchini and summer squashes tonight. And………Abby and I went and picked organic sweet corn. That was a first for me, but I negotiated with the owners to give us the corn for half price if we picked it ourselves. We picked 12 dozen in about a half hours. Not bad for saving $36. I’ll take that. Now tomorrow I’ll be preparing it to freeze. In the meantime, I might just need to look into home alarms to make sure my delicious bounty stays safe.
We are expecting a visit from our dear ones up from Topeka on Wednesday so we are all looking forward to seeing them. They are on their way up to northern WI to camp. THEY.ARE.GOING.TO.FREEZE!!!!!!!!!!
In other news, Michael started his trumpet lessons today. Come to think of it, that might just be the home security system I was looking for!
