Bragging on David
I have to do just a bit of bragging on David. He took a woodworking class the second semester of the school year…he really wasn’t sure he wanted to, but we pushed him a little and he did it. He took a while deciding on his project and then he was very tight-lipped about it.
Kind of like how you want to be when you are looking for the best weight loss pill…HA!
I kept asking him for updates on his progress and it just seemed like he was not making much progress as the end of the year loomed closer. The school year actually ended and it still wasn’t finished. He needed to stain it yet, so I called his teacher and made arrangements for David to go in before swim team on two mornings a few weeks ago and he finished staining the table. Welllllllllllll…last week David and hubby went to go pick the table up from school and my jaw absolutely DROPPED when they brought it in the door. The entire top is pieced! He mitered the corners! It has a drawer in the front that is on gliders! It is just the most handsome table I think I could have imagined. So proud of him!
He has woodworking in his blood, that’s for sure. Both great-grandfathers were carpenters and woodworkers, his grandpa continues the hobby, and how both he and Daniel have completed beautiful projects. Daniel’s project was a cedar garden bench that is outside right next to my garden. It, too, is beautiful…I will get a picture of his, too!
