Graduation Party…TOMORROW!
I think I’m ready for this! Tomorrow afternoon is the big graduation party. Weather looks quite wet today, the the weatherman promised me that it would blow through by overnight tonight and tomorrow would be pretty much dry. I’m counting on this.
Cooking is under control, house is pretty clean, tonight we need to decorate and I still need to frost and decorate the cake…but I’m in good shape.
I finished a slideshow for the gift table and I wanted to share. I tell you…I made it so you wouldn’t think that it would get to me like this, but it still makes me cry every time I watch it! I’d love to know what you think…I worked hard on it!
Awww. Very sweet. I definitely teared up. Daniel sure is a cutie. I know you’re very proud!
We had our son’s graduation party this afternoon (Sunday afternoon) too. Our daughter, son-in-law, and 2 grandbabies came for a visit this weekend to help celebrate. The party is over, our daughter and her family have headed back home, all of our son’s friends have left except for two, the house is so quite now…and I’m in tears! We’ve had an absolutely wonderful weekend, but now it’s all over and I miss our daughter and grandbabies already, and I’m thinking how our son will be off to college before long. I DO NOT like the “empty nest!!”

Kathy, I love the video! Pictures and song are great! Parts of it remind me of our son (band pictures, holding new nephew).

Awesome slide show Kathy! I know exactly how you feel. We just had a double grad party for Tera (college) and Tim (H.S.). It goes too fast. I hope yours is going wonderfully!! <3
Very nice video, Kathy. Congratulations to your son.
Kathy, We’re so proud of Daniel and you. You accomplish so much with such a busy household.
Wish we were there celebrating with you today. It’s so hard to believe how quickly the years pass and we miss so much.
Hugs and kisses all around.
Charla…your party experience sounds so similar to ours. Last night after the last of the guests left and only a handful of Daniel’s friends remained…the grandbabies had left and we had said our final good-byes to them…the house was sooooooo quiet and all of the hoopla had gone…I was so exhausted yet strangely keyed up still from the party….and full of many mixed emotions from all of the excitement from the last few weeks. You and I sound like we are dealing with many of the same situations (yet we are far from empty-nesters yet! LOL). I’m glad your party went well. =)
Thanks, Laura. Having the slide-show going all day yesterday during our party has finally gotten me to the point where I’m not crying! LOL…
Thanks so much, Karen!
Thank you, Darlene. You were missed yesterday. It would have been great to have you here.
Nice slide show. I like when parents do these of their graduates. There was one at the party we went to on the weekend and they had it running on their very big screen TV just inside of where the gift table and food table were on the back porch. It’s fun to see their activities and how they’ve changed through the years. At church, they always put together a cool slide show of our high school graduates showing the kids changing with 4 pictures each but they don’t flip, somehow they have the same picture just change into the next one. Really cool! I enjoy watching that every year.
