Cure the Winter Doldrums in Branson
Long about this time in January, I start to feel like I am ready for some kind of escape from the long, cold winters we have here in Wisconsin. Maybe I’m just getting old…I don’t know…but the winters seem to be getting harder to tolerate for me.
When you think of a winter escape, typically you think of somewhere really far away and exotic. That’s out of reach for some of us, though. Our family situation and finances wouldn’t allow a winter vacation like that…but perhaps we really could think about doing something fun that is a little closer to home.
Branson is easily within a day’s drive of where we live so we really could do something like this! They have an appealing Winter Escape Package right now that is available at the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel. Both of these hotels have many amenities available for guests, including shops, boutiques, restaurants, a river walk and other attractions.
Branson itself is quite a destination and looks like it has something for everyone there. They have ongoing events like The Third Annual Ice Carving, The 2009 Polar Plunge and The Second Anniversary of the Hilton Promenade, live entertainment and theaters. These hotels are located within easy driving distance of Branson’s golf courses, lakes, museums, theme parks and live entertainment theaters. I think our family would definitely check out the museums, a theme park, and some of the live entertainment if we were to venture down there.
This would be a great cure for the winter doldrums!
That sounds like fun. We have considered coming to Branson for our family vacation.
