Since I started dabbling in making boutique bags last summer, I am sorry to say that I got stalled out at the point of exactly how to market and sell my bags. I tried using this blog and an auction widget, but that did not seem to work. I have considered some of the other popular craft selling sites, but always get frustrated with the fact that their fees will cut into my hard-earned profits.

This is why I was excited to learn about ArtFire.com. This is an artisan community in open beta so I would consider this a ground-floor opportunity. There are already over 5,000 members and hundreds more are joining every day! With good reason, too. Listen to some of this:

• This is a global market with the same currency conversion for everyone
• Sellers receive subdomains, custom shops, stats, trade guilds, personal recognition and tons of visitors to their site
• Basic sellers can sell up to 10 items at a time (with 4 pictures) for absolutely FREE  – there are no fees
• ArtFire will plant a tree for every new member (free included) in a world ecology in need. They expect to plant 1 million trees in the new year.

I am definitely checking this site out – it sounds like the perfect way to sell my bags!
