I've Been Keeping Busy!

Oh, yes I have!

Of course, last week was a bit of a frantic week for us with Thanksgiving preparations. Directly on the heel of that I promised myself that I was going to refocus on some long overdue and unfinished projects and try to get some of these UFOs (Un Finished Objects) completed.

So…on Friday I got out my Women of the Bible quilt that I spent a year piecing. I completed all the squares, sewed them together, and finished the border to the point of having sewn the vine for the grapevine on and attaching all of the leaves to the vine. Then I ran out of steam and quit a year ago. The proposition of cutting out and attaching 200 grapes (for the grapevine) was more than I could bear at the time.

So…as of Friday, I have cut out all 200 grapes and glued them on to the border. Now I am in the process of appliqueing all of the grapes and leaves on. This will be slowgoing and tedious I’m afraid…but I am determined to finish this quilt!

When I’m not sewing I have been crocheting some scarves and cowl neckwarmers. I found a few neat patterns and am having fun at this, too! Nothing makes me feel like crocheting like winter!

  1. I cannot wait to see a picture of your quilt! Maybe I can feature it on my Winding Threads blog.
