Table Talk

Family meal time is usually anything but dull at our house. With a table full of children ranging from 2 to 17 there is always someone talking about something…usually more than one at a time, I’m afraid.

I do like the idea of focusing our dinner table discussions, though, and so have been doing some thinking along these lines. Here is a short list of some ideas I’ve come up with so far. Care to add any? I’d love to hear!

  • Tell about one thing you started today and one thing you finished
  • If you could do anything you wanted, what would it be?
  • What would you most like to change about yourself?
  • Start a story with a few sentences and go around the table.
  • Discuss upcoming events or changes that will affect our lives.
  • Where is one place you’d like to go?
  • What is one thing you’d like to try doing?
  • Share a favorite memory.
  • What is the best thing that happened to you today?  The worst thing?
  • What is the funniest thing that happened today?
  • What was the most interesting thing that happened today?
