Bright and early this morning SCOOP came to our house!  Isaiah is a BIG TIME Bob the Builder fan so you can imagine his excitement when “Scoop” came to his house this morning and started digging up our front yard.

Unfortunately, our news was not good.  After they dug the trench, they attempted to thread a ribbon through the pipe leading out to the street and it stopped and would not continue through the entire way.  After calling in TWO plumbers with very heavy-duty equipment and three hours later they finally concluded that the pipe is unpassable and we have to dig up the street.  The worst news?  It’s our liability…not the city’s…even though the clog is well into the street and definitely on the city’s property.   Does that suck or what?

So…we limp along with no plumbing through the weekend.  The construction crew will return next week (hopefully Monday!) and the job will take several days and the bottom line cost will probably top $3,000 by the time all is said and done.

I washed the girls’ hair outside with the garden hose this afternoon.  By the time we were on Ruth’s little head (she went last) the water was icy cold…but at least they have clean hair!
