Pick A Puppy At Happiness is Pets
Our family has not had good luck with pets, I’m sorry to say. My husband has asthmatic-like allergies to pet dander…so the typical housepets are out for us. No cats or dogs or rabbits…nothing like that for us. We have tried quite a few “alternative pets” and have not had a lot of success with these types of pets. We’ve tried hermit crabs, gerbils, hamsters, frogs…all didn’t work so well for us.
I wish we could utilize a service like Happiness is Pets.
This service specializes in puppies and helps people find the pet that will fit their family. They even have specially designed playrooms for customers to get acquainted with the puppies prior to purchase.
They are located in the Chicago area and they have an extensive selection of puppies, as well as a full line of dog toys, accessories, grooming supplies and food.
Please visti happinessisNOTpets.com for the TRUTH about this horrible store. They sell dogs from PUPPY MILLS!
I have been going to Happiness is Pets for about 2 weeks to see Mike ( Shih-zhu). I have fallen in love with him but I can’t see paying so much for a pet. I know they become your family. But recently we had a lab diagnosed with liver cancer and 2 weeks ago we had to put our part pekinese/part shih-zhu to sleep and it killed me and broke the bank at the same time. We are not trying to replace Benji, but we have this huge hole in our hearts.
If my daughter was having a teen moment ( you know, where they don’t speak to their parents and mad at the world) She would always come up and play when benji everynight before she went to bed. And on weekends, she would stretch across our bed to get benji alert. She was wanting a pug, has for years. But Mike kept watching us and he lays for hrs in our arms. Once upon a time there was a saying..if you are paying a lot for your pet, you will treat him/her better. Not true, because in this day, people want possessions. To me, the pets pick you, or it will never work. I love Mike already, but can’t afford him.
All my dogs have been from rescues. So far, after I show up at Happiness is pets…they are always cleaning and loving those little guys/girls. And if they group at Arlington show that much love and attention, then I see no harm in purchasing a pet from them.
Thanks for letting me tell my story
Donna? Do you condone puppy mills? These dogs are from puppy mills. Do your research.
Ooh, puppy mills are BAD, VERY VERY VERY BAD! My mom was a collie breeder and bred corgis too (was NOT a puppy mill). She had a breeding farm named Lin-Mor Collies. This was a couple of decades ago, she ended up selling everything off after her parents died. ANYWAY, she always said to NEVER get a dog from a pet store because they are from puppy mills. Puppy mills are just horrible, the dogs are totally mistreated and usually have a lot of issues. Also, they don’t usually care what happens once the dog is bought. My mom had a litter that was born and one of the dogs had been bought and she was preparing him for his new home. She was walking with him when he stopped. She pulled at the leash and he LUNGED at her THROAT with no warning! She managed to put her hand up in time and therefore only got bit there (because a throat bite probably would have killed her). She put both that dog AND his litter mate down because she wasn’t sure if it was a genetic issue or not. She also canceled the sale of the dog. A puppy mill probably would not do this.
Personally, considering how many animals get put down in shelters these days, it’s almost better to adopt a pet from there than to even go to a breeder. Too many people buy a specific breed but then find some reason or another to give the pet away to a shelter or the dog finds its way to a rescue.
