Alzheimer's Association Memory Walk
If you (and your family) are looking for a great family activity that will bring you closer together and at the same time serve a bigger purpose, I think I may have found the perfect thing!
Alzheimer’s has stolen 5.2 million loved ones away from their friends and family in the United States alone. Every 71 seconds, someone develops Alzheimer’s! Alzheimer’s is the sixth-leading cause of death. In addition, 10 million Baby Boomers will develop Alzheimer’s in their lifetime. These statistics are frightening and should move us to take action.
Here’s something we can do to help!
Alzheimer’s Memory Walk is the nation’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support and research. It calls on volunteers of all ages to become champions in the fight against Alzheimer’s. This is where we can enlist our children and teach them a valuable lesson on how THEY can help make a difference in a cause like this. There are walks in more than 600 communities. A typical Memory Walk is a 2-3 mile walk and is held on a weekend morning in the fall.
By teaming your family up with the Alzheimer’s Association, you can walk with a purpose. We can help move closer to a world without Alzheimer’s. Together, we can help MOVE a nation.
