Park West Gallery
Time for another virtual field trip!
The Park West Gallery was founded in 1969 and is located on a beautiful 3½-acre site in Southfield, Michigan. The site includes a natural pond in the rear with a surrounding walkway and sculpture garden. The beautiful building of classical design is in the style of many museums built in North America in the 20th century. There are exterior galleries of twenty-three works of art that are featured in display windows. In front of the windows is a granite walkway that is protected by a covered portico supported by stone columns.
Inside the 63,000 square foot facility are 23 spacious exhibition galleries that are accented with antique furniture and fine oriental carpets upon limestone floors. Each of the galleries is devoted to a particular artist or a particular type of art. What’s more, every month a new exhibition and sale is mounted and a completely new collection is placed in the galleries.
One display not to miss is the Jean Claude Picot and Park West Gallery. I would love to visit this museum with my children. It sounds like not only a very educational museum, but one filled with exquisite beauty.
