Multi-Tasking Can Be a Double Edged Sword
I had Abby and Isaiah in the tub last night and I was letting them play a bit because everyone else was away at a ball practice. Earlier in the day I had attempted to quell the ever-growing “orphan sock” population in my laundryroom and I had an entire basket of newly paired socks that needed to be distributed to their rightful owners.
So…I was making my way through the laundry basket while those two happily played in the tub. Should have been a nice little scene…right? Well…remember, Isaiah is not quite 2. What do not-quite-two-year-olds do in the tub sometimes? YUP…he pooped. Suddenly, Abby is calling to me that Isaiah pooped. The tub looked like toilet water. Soooooooooo gross. Thankfully, there were not that many toys in the tub at the time.
So, I gave the kids a quick scrub down, got them out and dressed and got them busy in their room while I actually managed to clean the entire bathroom. One thing led to another and I just kept going.
The moral of the story…multi-tasking can be good and bad. In this case, I got most of my socks put away and got my entire bathroom clean. The bad part was that I had to deal with one of the more gross aspects of bathing children.
