Designer kids clothes

With the arrival of nicer weather lately, I have been hard at work this week figuring out my kids spring and summer wardrobes. You have no idea what a task this is with 7 kids to organize! Truly monumental. One of the things I’ve started doing in recent years is utilizing the internet for shopping. You just can’t beat the convenience and many times the prices, too.

With the internet at your disposal, you suddenly have access to all the stores and clothing lines that you likely may not have otherwise had. I know in the midwest (even within driving distance to a pretty good sized city) my selection of clothing was limited. Now even in a tiny little burg in the middle of nowhere I, too, can choose from any kind of clothing my heart desires. Even European kids clothes from New York City! How cool is that?

For instance, this clothes here at Estrella are truly to-die-for. I checked out the new arrivals and totally started drooling all over my keyboard. I would have no problem outfitting my little girls here and could find everything they would possibly need for the season. The prices aren’t even that crazy, either.

Want a little fun? Do some online shopping at Estrella!

Sarah’s band teacher handed her this picture yesterday. I think this is the only picture we ended up getting from the concert. I sure look like I’m concentrating and playing beautifully…don’t I???? :P

Cosmetic Surgery Center

Someday…I’m telling you…someday I am going to repair some of the damage wreaked on my body by my precious children. There are a lot of things that bug me even when I am in shape. I won’t go into gory detail, as I know I have a few male readers and I don’t want to scare them…suffice to say my husband loves me unconditionally and he’s quite a guy…LOL.

Just for the heck of it, I was at an interesting site today. It’s called Advanced Medical Institute and I enjoyed looking around thinking about what I might have done someday. The Chicago laser hair removal was something that would be great to try someday. Not only do they do hair removal, but they also have Epidermex skin treatments, non-surgical facelifts, Botox, and something they call “Innovative Skin Care Technology”. All very interesting to me!

If you are interested too, I would encourage you to take a look at the virtual tours they have on their site. These are a great way to get a feel for what this clinic can do for you. They also offer monthly specials that are a nice incentive!

Yay me!

Just wanted to put this here to help keep me accountable - especially as the weekend is coming up. I have exercised every day this week and have eaten “clean” - meaning no snacks other than fruit or protein.? Nothing high fat or sweet!? Swimsuit season is fast approaching and I’m going to be ready!!

I signed up for Social Spark…

…several weeks ago. At first it was very exciting and a bit confusing. I was there at the tail end of the Alpha testing phase, so there were still quite a few bugs they were working through while I was trying to get myself acclimated. That part was a little tough. But in the week or so since they moved into the Beta phase things have smoothed out quite a bit. Both of my monetized blogs are now in the system and are ready to go. I’ve put several sponsored posts on this blog already. I’m still looking for an opportunity that I can grab that will fit well on my other blog - the pickings are a little slim as far as that goes so far. Hopefully that will change soon!

So far, SocialSpark seems to be a very elaborate business venture that has great possibilities for serving both advertisers’ and bloggers’ needs. It’s a social network and a blogging network all rolled into one. As a blogger, I really appreciate the community aspect of the site and the new way to drive a little traffic to my blogs.

They have a strict code of ethics that is good. They also have a few other aspects that many bloggers appreciate:

  • 100% Audit-able In-Post Disclosure
  • 100% Transparency
  • 100% Real Opinions
  • 100% Search Engine Friendly

Anyone who is trying to preserve Page Rank should really look into SocialSpark. The nofollow links are supposed to be compatible with Google’s requirements for retaining PR.

Why Women Cry

My mother-in-law sent this to me the other day and I wish I had read it earlier. I am not easily moved by the email stuff, but this one got me. It’s a good one.

att1.jpg

A little boy asked his mother, ‘Why are you crying?’ ‘Because I’m a woman,’ she told him.
I don’t understand,’ he said. His Mom
just hugged him and said, ‘And you never will.’

Later the
little boy asked his father, ‘Why does mother seem to cry for no
reason?’

‘All women cry for no reason,’ was all his dad
could say.

The little boy grew up
and became a man, still wondering why women cry.

Finally
he put in a call to God. When God got on the phone, he asked, ‘God,
why do women cry so easily?’

God said:

‘When I made
the woman she had to be special.

I made her shoulders strong
enough to carry the weight of the world,

yet gentle enough
to give comfort

I gave her an inner strength to endure
childbirth and the rejection that many times comes from her
children.

I gave her a hardness that allows her to keep
going when everyone else gives up, and take care of her family
through sickness and fatigue with out complaining..

I gave
her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all
circumstances, even when her child has hurt her very badly.

I gave her strength to carry her husband through his faults
and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart.

I gave
her wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife, but
sometimes tests her strengths and her resolve to stand beside him
unfalteringly.

And finally, I gave her a tear to shed. This
is hers exclusively to use whenever it is needed.’

‘You see
my son,’ said God, ‘the beauty of a woman is not in the clothes she
wears, the figure that she carries, or the way she combs her hair.

The beauty of a woman must be seen in her eyes, because that
is the doorway to her heart - the place where love resides.’

Helping kids be aware of earth day with a fun site

I just found a neat site that my kids and I are going to spend some time exploring today. Let me tell you about it…

The website is called Dizzywood. It is an online game for kids between the ages of eight and twelve. What caught my attention is a special promotion they are running right now to help kids get involved in Earth Day. I like anything that makes learning about these things fun and memorable for kids.

Kids as players in the game are able to plant trees as part of the game they are playing on the site. What they are trying to do is restore a balance to large areas of forest that have been destroyed by an evil villain and his terrible mining activities. But wait - here’s the best part! For every virtual tree a kid plants in Dizzywood, a real one will be planted on our earth. This is made possible through a partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation. I just love this!

Here’s a little about how it works.

Players can earn tree seedlings when they arrive in this cyberworld. Then they can plant them in damaged areas of the Dizzywood forest. Kids will quickly discover that if they get help from friends their trees grow faster and better. As each tree is planted, players will also see the effects on the sky as it slowly begins to clear. The pollution starts to disappear! They will also notice that the Dizzywood creatures start to return to their homes as the environment improves. Enviromental cause and effect learned in a fun way!

If this sounds neat to you, act quickly because this special event isn’t going to last much longer.

Thought for the Day

Make it a breeze not a battle

Try not to fight. When you think about it, very few things are worth fighting for. Wise people avoid fights. They wait patiently, speak positively, let go easily. They see benefit in everything and they envision a future of abundance They trust that all needs will be met at the right moment, in the right way. If your attitude is that life is a struggle then your life will mirror this. If you think life is a breeze, your attitudes and actions will make this happen. That is what attracts everything you need, and so much more.

Make today a breeze not a battle.
