Going batty…
Want to hear our excitement from yesterday? I had Isaiah outside in the backyard yesterday morning and was swinging him on the tire swing. He finished on the tire swing and wanted to swing on the swingset. As I was following him over to his swing, my eyes lit upon something in the grass. You know how sometimes it takes your brain a little bit to catch up to your eyes? That’s exactly what happened as I was looking down at this sight. At first I thought to myself, “That looks like a wing.” Then, “That looks like a bat wing.” Then, “That is a bat!” Sure enough, sitting in the grass was a small, sick, scary bat that bared his fangs at us when we got too close to him. David came out and scooped him up in a shovel and we moved him out of the play area. We later took him away to a remote area where hopefully no one would happen upon him as we almost did. I shudder to think about one of the kids stepping on him with a bare foot…guaranteed rabies shots, I’m sure.
