Woke to Robins!

How sweet that was. It’s been a long time since I heard a robin singing its little heart out at about 6:30 in the morning. That actually made me pop my eyes wide open when I realized what it was…LOL.
Got up and made a coffee cake for the troops and am sitting here with my first cuppa watching the ugly starlings fight over one of my bird feeders. Ever since I changed birdfeed I’ve had starlings and I just despise those birds. They are such bullies.
We are actually supposed to get about an inch of snow tonight, so should be interesting to see what happens with that. True-to-form…a few days ago I just packed away winter coats and boots and it always seems to have to snow once after I do that…doesn’t matter how long I wait to do it. I don’t get that…
Busy week coming up for us. We have Passover next Friday night, so this week will be spent cleaning and cooking for me. We’re taking the week off of school so at least I won’t have to worry about that for a bit. Kiddoes are naturally excited about that. I ordered my lamb yesterday so that is all set to go. Tomorrow I have a bunch of shopping to do for entertaining next weekend.
I really hit my kitchen hard yesterday and did a lot of cleaning. My fridge was completely disassembled and it is just sparkling beautifully now. I cleaned out a bunch of cupboards, too. I got all of this done while Isaiah was napping and Sarah, Michael, and Ruthie were down at the library for a special craft time. Abby sat at the counter with me happily playing with her new leapster. Surprisingly, she didn’t even realize that Ruthie was gone. I was expecting huge fireworks about her not being able to go with them (craft time was for 6-12 year olds).
The girls have their ballet picture session on Tuesday and Wednesday night. We’ll be getting all of the costumes out and fixing their little faces and putting their hair up. This is always a very big deal and there promises to be lots of commotion around our house as we are primping them and getting them ready. Stay tuned for great pics!
Lora is, unbelievably, 15 weeks along in her pregnancy! How can that be???? I was at her blog the other day and she had a belly picture up that definitely showed a **POP**! She’s really showing quite a bit – especially remembering how long it took the last time with Ava. Everything seems to have settled down with the complications she was having and things look good. Ava is healthy again and is getting closer and closer to walking. Oh! And that little genius has an amazing vocabulary! Every time I talk to Lora she tells me another word she says. If Isaiah doesn’t watch out, Ava’s going to surpass him in the word list department.
Actually, Isaiah’s not doing too badly. Just this last week he has started to put two and sometimes three words together for little sentences. He’s progressing just fine – especially for a boy. He also does the cutest monkey impression. Leonard taught him this the other night, I guess. I didn’t even realize he had this little talent until Sarah and I were talking about a monkey sock stuffed animal that she had made and Isaiah was listening to us. He all of a sudden broke into a bunch of monkey noises and we were just flabbergasted! Now he is utilizing this new-found talent for all its worth and will break into monkey noises when he needs to charm someone. Works pretty well…
Nothing too exciting to report about my big boys. Daniel is waiting to hear back some time this coming week about a job he really wants for this summer. I am just praying with all my heart that he gets it because if he doesn’t it’s going to break his heart and thereby mine. David has decided that he needs to practice his drum set for about an hour a day recently. I sit here at my laptop with my head just ricocheting violently until I finally yell in to him “How much longer…?” I’m really glad that he enjoys it so much, and I’m trying to encourage him…but…sigh…
I think that brings us pretty much up to date. My coffee cup is empty, so off I go!
