What is your Rank?

If you have a blog and have spent much time learning the tools of the trade and what is involved in blogging and promoting your blog, you have likely learned (or at least heard) of Google’s Page Rank system. Unfortunately, bloggers who have decided to monetize their blogs are now being penalized by Google for using their blogs for this purpose. The penalty is what has become known as “Rank Spank”. Google surveys websites they are indexing regularly, and if they detect sponsored posts in your blog, they strip your blog of its page rank. This may occur in incremental stages or all at once (if your blog doesn’t have a very high page rank to begin with). My little blog here was no exception.

This is a ranking system created just for bloggers. Created to be a fair system that benefits everyone.

Here is the formula:

70% weighted towards visitors per day

20% weighted towards amount of ACTIVE inbound links per day

10% weighted towards pageviews per day

Sound fair? I think so!
