In Praise of the Leapster

Abby just got an early birthday present today and I have to tell you how much we are loving the Leapster!

The Leapster L-Max is a handheld game for little people (ages 4-10) complete with an interactive touch screen, stylus pen and directional pad. The child can play action-packed games anywhere - on the go or at home on your TV. They can learn to write letters on the screen - the letters you write will appear on the TV and star in an animated story!

This is an award winning game that helps teach letter names, phonics skills, rhyming, spelling, numbers, addition, subtraction, and music exploration.

Abby received a Dora cartridge, Disney Princess cartridge, and a Kindergarten cartridge. So far I have to say she loves it. It is easily used and she caught on to it right away with very little direction. Kids seem to have an intuition about technical gadgets…even 4 year olds! They rarely need instructions.

Abby also received a docking system that will keep it recharged, which I think is very nice. The whole thing comes in a cute little carrying case that has a hard side on one side for added protection.

All-in-all we give this TWO thumbs up!

Custom Picture Frames

I have a bunch of pictures that I am ready to have framed. One of my projects over the last year has been to take each kid in for a picture sitting around their birthday. I just finished up the last one with David’s recent birthday so now I have updated pictures of all my precious ones! Now I need to get them all framed in just the right way. I also have several of Ava girl that still need framing also. I found a great place for custom picture framing. Reasonable prices and great selection. Great site!

Hoodia - an option for weight loss?

Baby weight is being stubborn this time. I am doing better than I was, but I still have about 10 to 15 pounds that I would like to lose and never find again. I tried South Beach for a while, but that is just not me. I am trying to discipline myself to exercise 4 to 5 times a week, and when I do this, it definitely helps. I know I don?t HAVE to look like a Barbie doll to be happy with myself. And truth be told, I?m a lot happier as a person when I?m not super skinny. I doubt that the hoodia patch would be an option for me because I?m still nursing, but maybe this would be a safe option if I were not nursing.
